A Quiet Measire of Light: Thoughts of Infinity screening

  • Bigaignon Gallery 18 Rue du Bourg Tibourg Paris, IDF, 75004 France (map)

As part of the programming accompanying A Quiet Measure of Light, Bigaignon will present a screening of Thoughts of Infinity on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. at the gallery in Paris. Directed by Halina Dyrschka, the film explores the singular artistic perspective of James Howell (1935–2014), whose practice developed over more than five decades through a sustained investigation of the fundamental elements of painting: color, light, space, and perception. Focusing in particular on Howell’s engagement with the color grey and the philosophical ideas underpinning his work, Thoughts of Infinity offers insight into the conceptual and perceptual questions at the heart of his practice. Admission is free with registration. The James Howell Foundation warmly thanks Bigaignon for hosting this screening and for including Thoughts of Infinity in the programming surrounding A Quiet Measure of Light.
