Thoughts of Infinity – German Theatrical Premiere

The James Howell Foundation is pleased to announce that Thoughts of Infinity will celebrate its German theatrical premiere later this month. Directed by Halina Dyrschka, the film brings James Howell’s meditative and systematic approach to abstraction to the screen with exceptional clarity and sensitivity. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Halina Dyrschka for her vision and to Carl-Jürgen Schroth for his generous support in helping bring this project to fruition.

This special screening introduces Howell’s work to German audiences—communities deeply rooted in traditions of minimalism, conceptual art, and rigorously structured visual languages. Germany’s rich intellectual heritage in philosophy, aesthetics, and experimental cinema offers a uniquely resonant context for Howell’s disciplined exploration of tone, perception, and form. Presenting the film in this cultural landscape expands not only its international reach, but also the broader dialogue surrounding the enduring relevance of analog processes in a digital age.

We are honored that director Halina Dyrschka and Carl-Jürgen Schroth, a participant in the film, will join the audience for this special occasion.
